The Brazilian came close several times to landing an F1 seat earlier in his career, but he has finally been given the chance with Virgin Racing where he will be able to renew his partnership with team boss John Booth.
Although Virgin looks set to face a tough year to get up to speed in F1, di Grassi has enough experience from his years as Renault test driver to at least help push things forward during his rookie campaign.
A thoroughly pleasant guy, who has passion for any form of motorsport, di Grassi is a good addition to the Virgin camp and should work well with team-mate Timo Glock.
